Department Description
MSAT (Manufacturing Science and Technology) is a multi-disciplinary department that provides expertise in biomanufacturing science, process trending, process validation, and technology transfer. It is the site’s center for expertise in manufacturing and process sciences. The MSAT team must be able to resolves complex technical issues to enable processes to be implemented in a timely manner with minimal risk to project timelines, regulatory filing, and ongoing operations.
Job Description
Provide technical support for biopharmaceutical product manufacturing (cell culture and protein purification). This individual will support product lifecycle management of existing commercial products, campaign readiness, and technical support for manufacturing.
- Support projects or activities (problem solves, documentation creation/revision) associated with the product technical lifecycle with regards to process/yield improvements, process knowledge management, continued process verification at-scale, batch deviations, and ensuring accuracy of regulatory CMC registered detail.
- Participate in teams for the rapid resolution of technical issues impacting supply through product performance investigations via the use of root cause analysis (RCA) tools and corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
- Develop a strong technical understanding of biopharmaceutical technologies including large scale cell culture technologies, bioseparation techniques, and pharmaceutical manufacturing of proteins by supporting GMP commercial scale production operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree for minimum of 2 years or Master's degree program for Biological or Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related disciplines.
- Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 6-month co-op (June ~ December 2025).
- Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fundamental understanding of biopharmaceuticals or bioprocessing (cell culture and protein purification); strong problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Committed team player prepared to work in and embrace a team-based culture.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to interact well with peers in scientific, quality, engineering and operational disciplines.

- While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.

- This job posting is for a temporary role as an employee of Atrium on assignment at GSK. The individual selected for this role will be offered the role as an employee of Atrium; compensation, medical benefits, fringe benefits and other terms and conditions of employment shall be presented by Atrium upon offer. The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on several factors, including educational degree obtained.
In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirement.
Pay Rate Range: $21/hr to $40/hr
