Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic intern will train with our maintenance team to acquire the skills and responsibilities listed below. The internship program mission is to develop trainees into Entry Level Maintenance Mechanics. You will have the opportunity to train in state-of-the-art food manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Will receive training for CMMS system, inventory management, as well as planning and scheduling of maintenance work orders
• Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment, and facilities in the processing & packaging departments
• Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, basic welding, basic metal fabrication, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving
• Operate drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine shop tools
• Setup, takedown, and relocation of bakery and packaging equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
• Provide solutions to routine or unique equipment problems
• Promptly respond to equipment-related issues with a customer-oriented manner
• Safely operate Scissor as needed (after training and certification)
• Rotating continental shifts and vacation fill-in
Key Qualifications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs is an asset
• Committed to working towards a Mechanical Certification
• Passionate about mechanical repair
