Cytotechnologist

Job Description:

Performs and results highly complex tests, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of pathologic conditions. Interprets and correlates test results, participates in annual Proficiency Testing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control monitoring, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting. May be required to perform specimen processing duties and participate in research, development, education, and technical consultation.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Cytotechnology

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

  • Certification as a Cytotechnologist American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required within one year of hire
  • Licensed per state requirements
