The Supplier Quality Engineer Intern will work closely with senior-level quality engineers to support problem-solving, process improvements, and supplier quality management. The intern will assist in tasks related to SAP for supplier annual validations, participate in supplier meetings to review KPIs, and contribute to process improvements across supplier quality activities. This internship provides valuable exposure to both technical and communication aspects of supplier quality in the automotive industry.

Project Objectives

Supplier Performance & Data Analysis

• Assist in developing and implementing supplier-related tasks in SAP for annual validations.
• Extract and analyze supplier performance data, identifying trends and generating reports for decision-making.
• Monitor and track supplier KPIs to ensure alignment with quality standards.

Problem-Solving & Process Improvement

• Collaborate with senior Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) on root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Participate in problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, 5Why, and other quality tools.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements within supplier quality management.

Supplier Communication & Training

• Attend and participate in supplier meetings, reviewing KPIs and quality performance.
• Assist in facilitating communication and training for suppliers regarding quality requirements, standards, and corrective actions.
• Support the creation and distribution of training materials and process documentation to suppliers.

Expected Deliverables

• Supplier performance KPI reports and annual validation data.
• Updated SAP processes and supplier validation activities.
• Documentation of problem-solving cases and recommended process improvements.
• A final project summary report outlining key findings, improvements, and recommendations.

• Hands-on experience with SAP and supplier quality management systems.
• Exposure to problem-solving methodologies in a real-world automotive context.
• Practical knowledge of supplier communication, KPI management, and process improvement techniques.
• Development of reporting, documentation, and training skills.
   

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Quality, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or Supply Chain.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, SAP (preferred).
• Familiarity with quality tools such as 8D, 5Why, FMEA is a plus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Interest in supplier quality management and automotive manufacturing.
