IT and Data Technology Intern

Our technology team is at the forefront of this transformation, and we are looking for a talented IT & Data Technology Intern to join us and gain hands-on experience in both software development and data management.

 

Position Summary:

As an IT & Data Technology Intern, you will work closely with our software development and data technology teams to build, optimize, and support software solutions and data systems that drive the bank’s digital transformation. This role offers you the unique opportunity to work across both software engineering and data analytics, giving you a well-rounded experience in the tech field. You will be involved in a variety of tasks related to software development, data analysis, system testing, and cloud technologies, helping you develop both your technical and problem-solving skills.

Software Development:

  • Assist in Software Development:
    • Support the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications.
    • Collaborate with developers to build new features and improve existing systems.
    • Participate in coding, debugging, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Support System Integration:
    • Help integrate various internal and external systems and services with the bank's platforms.
    • Assist in managing APIs, data pipelines, and third-party integrations.
  • Contribute to Front-End/Back-End Development:
    • Depending on your skills, assist with front-end development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or back-end development (e.g., API development, Python, Java, SQL).

Data Technology:

  • Data Management & Analysis:
    • Assist with data collection, storage, and retrieval using databases (SQL, NoSQL).
    • Perform data cleaning, transformation, and analysis using tools such as Python, AWS Glue, or SQL.
    • Help generate meaningful insights from large datasets and present them visually.
  • Support Data Reporting & Visualization:
    • Work with the team to create data dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI
  • Contribute to Data Pipeline Development:
    • Help in designing and optimizing data pipelines and workflows for automated data processing. Assist with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS) and work with big data technologies.

Collaboration & Learning:

  • Collaboration on Cross-Functional Projects:
    • Work with other technology and business teams to ensure software and data systems are aligned with business needs.
  • Participating in Agile Processes:
    • Participate in team meetings, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Research and Innovation:
    • Stay updated with industry trends and technologies in both software development and data analytics.
    • Propose innovative ideas and contribute to brainstorming sessions for new solutions.
  • Documentation:
    • Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation, including code comments, user manuals, and data flow diagrams.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Soft Skills:

  2. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  3. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
  4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  5. Eagerness to learn and grow in both software development and data technologies.

Physical Demands: 

  1. Occasionally lift and/or move items over 10 pounds.
  2. Remain sedentary (seated) for extended periods of time.

Working Environment:

  1. Work is performed in a professional office environment.
