Events Deckhand

Location: Vista Fleet
Seasonal Position: May – October (Full-Time & Part-Time)
Starting Wage: $15/hour + incentives

What You’ll Do:

  • Set the Scene for Events – Assist with setup, execution, and takedown for dining and event cruises, including moving tables, chairs, and equipment.
     
  • Provide Top-Tier Hospitality – Bartend, serve cocktails, assist with food service, and ensure an exceptional guest experience.
     
  • Handle Transactions – Process bar and food sales, operate registers, and handle cash transactions accurately.
     
  • Keep the Vessel in Ship-Shape – Maintain cleanliness, stock supplies, and ensure all amenities are ready for guests.
     
  • Ensure Safety & Security – Follow Coast Guard regulations, assist in emergency situations, and handle ship lines when docking.
     
  • Engage with Guests – Be outgoing and conversational, answering questions about the cruise, menu, and attractions.
     

What We’re Looking For:

  • Energetic, customer-focused, and professional demeanor.
     
  • Experience in bartending, food service, or hospitality is a plus.
     
  • Ability to lift and move tables, chairs, and event equipment.
     
  • Physically capable – Able to stand/walk for 8+ hours, lift up to 30 lbs, and navigate stairs and tight spaces.
     
  • Comfortable working on a boat and assisting with docking procedures.
     
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to random drug testing per Coast Guard regulations.
     
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
