Job Requirements

Education & Certification:
- Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Completion of a State Approved Orientation for Child Care Providers, with daily implementation supported by the Director/Assistant Director.

Experience & Skills:
- Prior experience working with young children, demonstrating effective classroom management through positive redirection, problem solving, setting appropriate limits, and active listening.
- Ability to develop and deliver a quality curriculum that promotes intellectual, social-emotional, physical, and language development.
- Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with families, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
- A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusivity, with the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding program details.

Curriculum & Instruction:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a high-quality curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of children, fostering their intellectual, social-emotional, physical, and language development.
- Use assessment data to adapt learning plans that advance each child's progress.

Classroom Management:
- Create and maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that reflects our high standards and home-like quality.
- Effectively manage daily schedules, transition times, and classroom activities by employing strategies based on Constructivist Theory and positive redirection.

Family & Community Engagement:
- Establish and nurture trusting relationships with families, keeping them informed and involved in their child’s educational journey.
- Collaborate with lead teachers and center directors to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Professional Collaboration:
- Participate in ongoing coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to continually enhance teaching practices and classroom management.
