Support the HIIM Department on the ROUND ROCK campus

This is a work-study position within the Department of Health Informatics & Information Management (HIIM) at Texas State University on the Round Rock campus. We are looking to hire someone who can work 10 - 20 hours each week during the Summer and Fall 2025 and possibly Spring 2026 semesters. 

The student worker will report to the Administrative Assistant III, who will evaluate performance based on reliability, attention to detail, and ability to perform assigned tasks. Hourly pay for this position will be $10-$15, depending on qualifications, schedule availability, and work-study funding available. 

Students taking classes on the Round Rock Campus from any major are encouraged, especially HIIM, Nursing, and other health professions, as well as data analytics, computer science, business, and others involving data analysis. 

The position involves:

  • Reliable schedule for staffing the departmental office during business hours
  • Answering phones and taking messages
  • Greeting students, faculty, and other office guests
  • Refer inquiries to the proper individual(s) or office
  • Creating and updating documents, graphics, flyers, etc.
  • Performing data entry into online systems and applications
  • Scheduling appointments for faculty
  • Filing, copying, shredding, distributing mail, and running errands on campus
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks, proper phone and email etiquette, the ability to appropriately handle confidential matters, and reliable transportation to campus.

Student workers must be professional, detail-oriented, and work well with others and also with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills and professional demeanor are expected.
