Hourly Rate $19.00 (Undergraduate)
Overview of Department:
Department of Subways – Division of Car Equipment (DCE) operates 13 maintenance shops and 2 overhaul shops throughout New York City, ensuring safe and reliable subway cars for daily service. The DCE Support Intern will gain valuable experience supporting the VP & CMO Office while developing key operational communications and relationships with internal and external customers. The intern will also help to build and maintain a database to ensure adequate staffing throughout various shops that perform regular inspections and repairs for the subway system.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain records of employees (active/non-active)
- Submitting new hire/internal employee hiring packages
- Updating new hire/internal employee hiring information
- Capturing Jetdocs tickets submitted for vacancies
- Updating tracker on operational hires
- Tracking employee maturations
- Submitting maturations for approvals
- Ad hoc projects as needed.
Projects:
- Updating candidate hiring information
- Submitting reports
- Tracking employee maturations
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
- The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
- The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize task effectively.
Required Education:
- Matriculated in undergraduate in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA
- Major(s) Preferred: Business Administration/Business Management or Related Field.
