Associate Attorney

Location: Chicago, IL (in-person preferred, hybrid to be considered)
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to work closely with the principal attorney on all aspects of family law cases. This role offers hands-on litigation experience and client engagement, making it an ideal fit for attorneys looking to grow their careers in family law.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in court hearings, status calls, pretrials, and trials.
  • Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and subpoenas.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on family law issues, including financial matters, parenting disputes, and litigation strategies.
  • Assist in preparation for and representation in mediation and collaborative law processes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
  • Second chair trials.
  • Assist in appeals.

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Bar membership (in good standing).
  • 1+ years of litigation experience (family law preferred but not required).
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills (Westlaw proficiency preferred).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple cases.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Compassionate and client-focused approach to legal representation.
