Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and legally savvy Legal Copywriter to support our growing team. This role will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and assigning documentation related to legal agreements, NDAs, contractor paperwork, and partnership terms. The ideal candidate will also collaborate closely with HR to ensure legal compliance in hiring, contracts, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Review, write, and edit legal documents including service agreements, partnership contracts, NDAs, and IP agreements

Assign and manage the flow of paperwork to internal teams, clients, and contractors

Ensure clarity and consistency in legal communications, using accessible yet legally sound language

Work closely with HR to review hiring documentation and policies for legal compliance

Monitor federal, state, and local employment laws relevant to a remote tech business

Maintain organized records of all legal documents and updates

Offer insight into standard legal practices and ensure contract templates meet industry standards

Qualifications

Proven experience in legal writing, editing, or paralegal work (2+ years preferred)

Excellent knowledge of contract language, structure, and terminology

Strong attention to detail with the ability to explain complex legal terms clearly

Experience working with HR or on HR-adjacent legal matters is a plus

Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Bachelor's degree in English, Law, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Nice to Have

Experience with startups or tech companies

Familiarity with intellectual property rights, software licenses, or international agreements

Understanding of compliance needs for freelance and contract-based workforces
