Writing & Communications Intern - Spring & Summer '25

Expand your professional experience by supporting the communication, marketing, and fundraising activities of St. Vincent de Paul Green Bay. Build your written and digital portfolio and sharpen your content gathering skills through interviews, drafting stories, and capturing photos featuring volunteers, team members and topics or events related to our nonprofit mission. This role will provide opportunities to develop and apply skillsets in strategic use of social media, print, fundraising, marketing and promotion with the backdrop and support of a respected international organization. Those pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or English are encouraged to apply. 

Essential Functions 

• Assist in writing informative and engaging profiles, testimonials, press releases, social media content, the website and email newsletters 

• Ability and enthusiasm to reach out to interview subjects by phone, email, or in-person to gather information 

• Research and develop new content ideas aligned with marketing and fundraising plans

 • Assist in creating messages to reach new audiences using multiple media channels 

• Basic skills in digital photography and video creation a plus 

• Work closely with the marketing team to support broader campaigns and initiatives, contributing creative ideas and social media insights 

• Assist in tracking and analyzing the performance of social media posts and campaigns to understand audience engagement and refine content strategies

 • Monitor our social media platforms, responding to comments and messages with the friendly and helpful voice of St. Vincent de Paul Green Bay 

• Report to work promptly and as scheduled, following SVdP guidelines for calling in any absences 

• Observe social media trends, tools, and best practices 

• Other duties as assigned 

Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

• Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related study preferred 1 

• At least two years of undergraduate study in a related field 

Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 • Working knowledge of social media 

• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines 

• Ability to think creatively

 • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills 

• Ability to work independently and with others

 • Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects

 • Accurate and attention to detail 

• Maintain confidentiality 

Travel: Able to drive to other locations as needed
