Data Science Intern (Summer 2025 - Hybrid - Los Angeles, CA or Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Pay Range: 

$38/hr undergrad rate 

$43/hr master's student rate

Available start dates: June 2nd 2025 - August 8th 2025 or June 16th 2025 - August 22nd 2025

 

Paramount Data Science Team within Data & Insights Group is going full throttle on Content Forecasting this year after successfully building and maintaining User level machine learning models such as SCARP, SLAM, TTOP, PETEY, SAM and Audience Segmentation Data is pivotal at Paramount, and as part of the Data & Insights Group (DIG), The DIG Data Science Team sits at the forefront of providing insights, recommendations, predictions all driven by data for Paramount . We are a team of Statisticians, Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers who use data to build ground breaking models to drive Finance, Marketing and Content Strategy decisions.

 

• Learn and apply machine learning techniques, participate in model training and evaluation, while gaining hands-on experience with industry tools and best practices.

• Support the development and implementation of NLP models, conduct text preprocessing, and evaluate model performance under the guidance of senior data scientists.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and deploy machine learning models, perform feature engineering, and evaluate model performance using industry-standard metrics.

• Develop and maintain SQL queries for data extraction from various databases (SQL/NoSQL), perform data cleaning, and implement data validation checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.

 

• Under grad students or first year Master's student with relevant experiences and internships majoring in Computer Science, Data Science, IT or related field.

• Python experience.

• Experience with Pandas, scikit learn, and other data science libraries.

• Experience with NLP is a must.

• Experience with Airflow.

• Experience with tools such as SQL, Advanced SQL, git, BigQuery.

• Experience with data management systems, both relational and NoSQL (e.g., HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB).

• Experience with exploratory data analysis using tools like iPython Notebook & Matplotlib.

• Strong problem-solving and creative-thinking skills.

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

• Experience with developing data pipelines.

• Experience Generative AI is a plus.

• Experience with Google Cloud/Any other Cloud, Jira, and Confluence is a plus.

 

Eligibility:   

This internship is open to Undergrad or first yeaMaster's students who are returning to school in the fall of 2025. If you are a graduating Senior, please check our website for full-time job opportunities closer to your graduation date.  

You must be available to intern full-time (5 days a week/36-40 hours a week) for 10 weeks total starting in June.  

Interns will be required to work hybrid or fully on-site for the duration of the program. 

Internships are paid at a competitive standard hourly rate (school credit is optional). 

Employment eligibility to work with Paramount in the United States is required as the company does not engage in sponsorship for internships.
