CCS/CAP Applebaum Internship

A key goal of the Applebaum Internship Program (AIP) is to provide upper level college students unique learning and networking opportunities with community and peer leaders. The aim of the engagement opportunities is to inform, connect, and network students with different ideas, leaders, individuals, and organizations to inspire leadership advancement and explore career paths in the non-profit sector.

Auxiliary educational and learning opportunities are an integral component of the summer internship. Students will engage in a selection of roundtable discussions with their cohort of AIP peers from different organizations. The sessions include the topics of: Philanthropy in the City, Professional Leadership, Applebaum Fellows Overview, and Mentoring sessions with a paired mentor.

Community Arts Partnership (CAP) is one of our most successful College for Creative Studies (CCS) Community Outreach programs. CAP’s focus is on inspiring art and design in the Detroit community by providing free art and design classes after-school, on weekends, and over the summer with the goals of: inspiring young people from diverse backgrounds to make the visual arts a part of their lives; bringing education in art, design, and new technologies to the neighborhoods of Detroit; and informing young people about art and design career opportunities.
