The Challenge
We're looking for an entry-level Engineering Technician to join our team as a HiCams/Office Technician.
In this role, you will:
- Support engineering technicians and engineers as a HiCams/Office Technician!
- Perform office support work, including preparing documents and reports, using office technology, compiling and maintaining records, organizing and maintaining files, posting information, scanning, and photocopying.
- Ensure all HiCams-related functions are in compliance with contract agreements, standards, and specifications.
- Perform standardized and non-standardized assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data.
- Perform HiCams functions, including processing monthly and final estimates, checking calculations, resolving pay record and material quantity discrepancies, researching project documents, and processing material prepayments.
- Apply sound decision-making and good judgment.
- Perform a full range of calculations and computations.
- Create requisitions for managing inventory.
- Administer payroll/time entry in our online SAP system.
- Process online SAP reports.
- Review project budgets in SAP.
- Review contractor certified payrolls for Federal Highway Administration compliance and scheduling.
- Maintain technicians' certifications.
- Track Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) participation and technician certifications.
- Perform other office duties and responsibilities.
What You Bring
- Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments.
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office, iPads, laptops, online databases such as SAP, and other business software.
- Customer service experience interacting with the public.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Safety toe shoes.
Bonus Points!
Management prefers candidates with:
- Knowledge and understanding of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and/or construction surveying.
- Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision.
- Experience maintaining neat, legible and accurate records and reports, including computer/iPad data entry.
Education & Experience
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related curriculum; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
