Field Application Engineer ( For Industrial Connectivity)
Job Summary:
As a Field Application Engineer (FAE) for the Smart Connection Industry at JPC Connectivity, you will be the primary technical advisor and liaison for customers across various sectors, including SCARA robotics, medical equipment, electric vehicles, and green energy. This role requires a blend of deep technical knowledge and customer-facing skills to recommend, design, and implement JPC's high-performance connectivity solutions, tailored to meet the unique requirements of these advanced industries. You’ll support the seamless integration of JPC’s products—such as industrial connectors, cabling, sensors, and customized solutions—into customer systems, ensuring top-quality performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Solution Development:
- Partner with customers in the SCARA robotics, medical, automotive, and green energy sectors to assess connectivity needs, including cabling, industrial Ethernet, and high-reliability connectors.
- Develop customized technical solutions that align with specific application requirements, conducting feasibility studies and collaborating with R&D to adapt products as needed.
- Conduct on-site troubleshooting and technical consultations to ensure optimal integration of JPC's products, such as waterproof connectors and flexible flat cables.
Product Expertise & Demonstrations:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on JPC’s product lines relevant to Smart Connection Industry applications, including factory automation, robotics, EVs, and clean energy systems.
- Provide engaging product demonstrations, technical presentations, and hands-on training to customers, showcasing product performance and competitive benefits.
- Facilitate field testing and customer trials to confirm that products meet performance and durability standards in demanding applications.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Building:
- Build strong relationships with engineering teams, project managers, and decision-makers within customer organizations to understand their specific needs and application challenges.
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting to maintain customer satisfaction and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Identify opportunities for further integration of JPC’s solutions within customers’ operational processes.
- Sales Collaboration & Revenue Growth:
- Work closely with the sales team to provide technical insight during proposal development, helping to shape solutions that align with customer goals and budget.
- Identify new business opportunities in industries such as robotics, healthcare, EVs, and green energy, supporting sales in expanding JPC's customer base.
- Assist in preparing technical content for customer-facing materials, highlighting JPC’s competitive advantages in the Smart Connection Industry.
Market Feedback & Product Development:
- Gather and document customer feedback on product performance, providing field insights that support product improvement and R&D initiatives.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor products, and evolving standards in SCARA robotics, medical devices, automotive, and green energy applications.
- Communicate emerging needs and challenges in these sectors to internal teams, driving the ongoing enhancement of JPC’s product offerings.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 1+ years as a field application engineer in sectors like factory automation, medical equipment, electric vehicles, robotics, or green energy.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of industrial connectivity components, high-speed cabling solutions, and data transmission protocols.
- Hands-on experience with robotics, medical devices, automotive systems, or energy systems, especially related to connectivity and automation.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and an ability to translate complex technical details into customer-centric solutions.
