Direct Care Supervisor (Skagit County)
Sunrise Services, INC. is seeking a Direct Care Supervisor for our Supported Living Program in Mount Vernon!
About the Program:
The Supported Living Program (SL) provides community living services for adults with a wide range of disabilities and mental health challenges. The SL program promotes self-determination, independence, and competence for clients.
General Responsibilities: The Direct Care Supervisor is a Site Supervisor role focused on the daily support of staff who work with clients with developmental disabilities who may also have mental illnesses, sexual, criminal, or other challenging issues and behaviors. The Direct Care Supervisor will be on site with clients and staff at least half of their work week. The Direct Care Supervisor supervises staff and ensures the effectiveness of services; promotes dignity, respect, and a high quality of life for clients; and ensures that all clients receive care, support, and assistance in accordance with agency, local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Provide direct support for clients in their homes weekly and when additional site coverage is needed
- While providing direct support for the clients in their homes or during weekly site visits, ensure the homes are clean and compliant per state requirements.
- Develop an expert understanding of each client’s plans, needs, specific goals, interests and behaviors so that every effort is made to help them live their best life.
- Observe client’s functional conditions and report changes immediately to the Program Manager to ensure action is taken promptly.
- Coordinate health care between the client, their chosen health professional and their residential program.
- Identify, establish rapport and maintain ongoing professional relationship with medical professionals in the community to provide health care services for our clients. Advocate with health care professionals to acquire best health care options for clients. Facilitate the implementation of all follow-up care requirements.
- Provide instruction to clients and staff for the use of any and all prescribed medications and medical treatments including administering, storage and side effects. On occasion will be required to pick-up, arrange for renewal, and disposal of out dated or no longer prescribed medications.
- Participate in on call duties are required
- Perform occasional light lifting of up to 20lbs, plus lift and transfer clients as needed. Navigate stairs in multistory buildings without elevators.
- Direct Care Supervisor in the client intake process: Helping to make all necessary arrangements for clients entering the program.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a field related to developmental disabilities or high school diploma/GED and at least 3 years’ experience preferred working with clients with developmental disabilities.
Experience: Prefer experience working with clients with developmental disabilities. Supervisory experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification: First Aid and CPR certifications, NAR within 30 days after hire.
- Current valid Washington Driver’s License.
- Auto insurance with the minimum amount of $50,000 of liability insurance.
- Must have and maintain a driving record that meets company driving requirements and policy.
- Attend and complete Buzz on Adult Learning and Peer Coaching training course within the first 90 days of hire or advancement.
Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication (oral and written), listening, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills are required.

- Must be able and willing to drive in inclement weather
- Skill with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, Teams and Outlook. Ability to learn scheduling and employee-database software. Ability to learn Therap client data base software.
- Typing speed of at least 40WMP
Shifts:
- Full-Time
- Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm
Compensation:
- $23.66 - $25.00/hour
- Wages are determined by applicable industry experience, education, and certifications/licensure.
