Intern, Operations & Engineering
The goal of this internship is to gain hands-on experience with operations and engineering in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Position Duties & Responsibilities:
- Project planning assistance with planned relocation and consolidation of facilities
- Plant Layout
- Coordination/Scheduling of riggers, electrical, air installations
- Coordination with sequence and step planning
- Time Studies
- Learn and apply LEAN techniques to generate non-value-added activity reduction within Helios and SF lines (FTS Pleater – changeovers and material flow optimizations)
- JSA Documentation for all Areas. Have all jobs documented and completion of forms for each function – Material Handlers to Assemblers
- Engineering Documentation Update
- Finished goods, raw materials, and submittal drawings
Education and Experience:
Pursuing an education in manufacturing/operations/engineering.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
