Rate is set in accordance with the City College of San Francisco Faculty Salary Schedule for hourly assignments. Currently the rate upon entry is from $90.90 to $160.48 per hour depending upon placement.TEMPORARY, PART-TIME POOLEC §87482

 

Position Description:

Please note, this is a part time position that coaches.

 

Intercollegiate Coaching: Men's Baseball, Men's Basketball, Football, Men's Soccer, Women's Badminton, Women's Basketball, Women's Soccer, Women's Swimming, Women's Tennis, Women's Volleyball, Women's Water Polo

 

Job Duties:

 

Unless otherwise assigned at the sole discretion of the District, the incumbent in this position is required to coach each semester.

 

Coaching:

1. Intercollegiate coaching for Athletics

 

2. Possess valid driver's license to drive Team Vans to and from games/meets.

 

3. Knowledgeable of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and

California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) guidelines concerning eligibility recruitment and participation.

 

4. Monitor the academic progress of each athlete. Assist with study hall supervision.

 

5. Report to the Department Chair and athletic director.

 

6. Supports and engages in an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.

 

7. Participates in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism to center pedagogy.

8. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

1. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds (Required).

 

2. Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.

OR

Hold a fully-satisfied LIFE California Community College Instructor Credential in Physical education (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).

Coaching Qualifications:

 

1. Coaching experience at the community college and/or four-year college level.

 

2. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the sport and ability to employ innovative coaching/training techniques and methodologies.

 

3. Current knowledge and skills in the appropriate coaching area(s) and physical education training.

 

4. Demonstrated commitment to improving instruction and athlete assessment methodologies through professional development.

 

5. Demonstrated ability to coach/train students with widely varying abilities and levels of preparation.

 

6. Practical demonstrative abilities, i.e. showing proper physical technique.

 

7. Possess current coaching certifications, diplomas and/or licenses from sporting governing body.

 

8. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage an off-season and pre-season training program.

 

9. Ability to relate to a culturally, socially diversified student body.

 

10. Demonstrated ability to work professionally and effectively with colleagues and students.

 

11. Evidence of successful instructional experience at the university or college level using culturally responsive pedagogy.

 

12. Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of inequities in higher education and a commitment to rectifying policies and processes that restrict access for historically minoritized and disproportionately impacted students
