CoDream is offering a 2-month, in-person solar systes and power internship on Kauai, Hawaii, where you’ll work on impactful projects while experiencing an unforgettable adventure.
We’re currently seeking a Solar Systems & Power Intern to help engineer our evolving lineup of solar-powered builds, including:
A solar-powered ice bath trailer for beaches, festivals, and wellness pop-ups
A solar carport designed to charge EVs in retail parking lots like Costco
A truck-mounted solar rack capable of delivering over 2,000 watts of power for mobile operations
Additional upcoming solar infrastructure projects for clean energy access and grid independence
⚡ What You’ll Work On
Design and optimize solar energy systems for off-grid hardware
Calculate loads, wire solar panels, connect MPPT controllers, inverters, and battery banks
Power everything from compressors and cooling units to locks, sensors, and microcontrollers
Collaborate with the fabrication and software teams to integrate systems across multiple builds
Troubleshoot field issues, improve energy efficiency, and iterate fast
Document wiring diagrams, testing results, and material sourcing
🎯 Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a hands-on, resourceful builder with deep knowledge of solar power systems. You should have:
Real experience designing or assembling off-grid solar setups (DIY, school, van build, startup — it all counts)
/Strong understanding of DC systems, MPPT controllers, inverters, and energy storage
Confidence with wiring, soldering, crimping, and general electrical safety
Ability to calculate power consumption, plan for cycles, and design for real-world use
Bonus: Experience integrating solar power into mobile platforms, trailers, or smart systems
Most importantly, a curious mind and a willingness to figure things out fast
🌈 Extra Bonus If You Have:
Experience with CAD software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks) to design mounting and enclosures
Familiarity with compressors, refrigeration, or other power-intensive components
Interest in broader systems like IoT, smart access (NFC/QR), or automation
An eye for clean design, efficient build processes, and long-term sustainability
