Job Summary:

The Department of Botany Plant Pathology invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, fixed-term, Research Associate position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Department Head.

This position is for a Research Associate in the Department of Botany & Plant Pathology in the field of plant development and genetics. The incumbent will be expected to develop and implement field, laboratory and computational research in plant development and genetics and supervise undergraduate student researchers.

To be successful in the role the incumbent should have: 1) Ph.D. in Botany, Biology, Plant Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or related field, 2) Publication record in plant development and genetics, 3) Computational experience with genomic data, 4) Molecular biology laboratory skills relevant to plant development and genetics, 5) Postdoctoral Experience, and 6) Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

What You Will Need

• Ph.D. in Botany, Biology, Plant Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or related field
• Publication record in plant development and genetics
• Computational experience with genomic data
• Molecular biology laboratory skills relevant to plant development and genetics
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to work with peers, partners, and team members of various backgrounds and perspectives

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
