Why we need you:
Over the past few years, we have filmed content during our attended workshops and interviews with Asian and Asian American students. We want to bring this content to life by engaging and sharing our story with our community. With your help, we can tell our stories and continue to inspire high school, university students, and early career professionals to achieve their goals.
What you can learn from us:

- How to thrive in a small team setting and learn what it takes to run your own business
- How to manage day-to-day operations in a startup
- How to publicize, support, and sell a company brand through videos, images, and ad campaigns that can add to your portfolio
- How to refine your own soft skills through coaching from us (of course!)
Responsibilities
- With guidance from the Director of Marketing, improve ASA’s video content and increase traffic on our social media platforms
- Write, edit and produce concise videos that are engaging and educational
- General proactiveness in promoting ASA coaching, speaking, and job board services to universities and more
- Remain professional and creative in all public, social media, and written communications
- Partake in administrative tasks for Asian Student Achievement (ASA)
- Use the ASA Google Drive in an organized manner
- Respond to emails, Slack, and other communication within 24 hours of receiving the information
- Other administrative tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Must have valid work status (US Citizens and Permanent Residents can disregard this).
- You may use your OPT (optional practical training) hours with us
- You may need approval from your school and/or the US Government before interning with us.
- However, we will not be able to sponsor you for any other type of visa, e.g. H-1B
- We will not be able to pay for any costs associated with work status and eligibility
- Must be a current college student or a recent graduate
- Commit to a minimum of 8 months for the internship with the possibility of extension or promotion
- Commit to a minimum of 5 to 10 hours a week to assigned tasks, meetings, and ASA events (we will reimburse you for any required travel)
- Experience with video editing
- Self-driven with the ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Be a brand storyteller who will create video content
- Graphics and animation experience is a plus
- Digital Media savvy and be up-to-date with new trends in video production
- Must show work samples of any of the following: previous portfolio, videography, photography, web design, illustration, print media, or social media promotions
Non-compete clause: While working for ASA, you are not allowed to work as a volunteer, part-time, or full-time employee with any competing organization or company that offers our business plan.
Preferred:
- Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and other Google productivity software
- Basic networking skills and command of conversational skills for interaction with clients and teammates. We are a remote company.
