We are currently hiring both Associate Consultants & Consultants. A candidate’s specific title and level will be assessed during the interview process.

 

What You Will Do and How You Will Grow

At Dalberg, Consultants play vital roles in driving the delivery of innovative, results-oriented solutions for our clients. Both roles involve conducting in-depth research, performing complex analyses, developing structured communication for clients, contributing to partnerships with clients and peer organizations, actively participating in Dalberg’s firm-building initiatives, and applying critical and creative thinking to address strategic client challenges. While these responsibilities are shared, the roles differ in scope and level of leadership.

 

We are looking for someone who is excited and curious to learn about a wide range of topics, as most consultants who are joining below the management level are generalists and will have the opportunity to work across diverse services, clients, and projects.

 

Associate Consultant-Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop approach for qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Extract key "so whats" from analyses, contributing perspectives and insights during team problem-solving sessions
  • Support research and analysis as a key contributor to the team’s knowledge base
  • Quickly learn new topic areas and apply knowledge and contextual understanding where relevant
  • Dive deeply into issues to uncover insights that shape project outcomes
  • Build foundational knowledge across sectors and geographies while serving as the backbone of project execution

 

Consultant-Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead research efforts and guide the team’s analysis, ensuring rigor and alignment with project objectives
  • Frame the team’s knowledge base on specific topics, integrating both quantitative data and qualitative insights from stakeholder interviews
  • Drive project delivery by developing and presenting innovative, results-driven solutions to clients
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders, building credibility and trust
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering their professional growth

Typical qualifications for an Associate Consultant:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Relations or a related field
  • Excellent academic record
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in business, finance, government, or the nonprofit sector is preferred.
  • Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated fluency with English speaking and writing skills

 

In addition, if you have skills or abilities in the following areas, please share them in your application:

  • Fluency in foreign languages
  • Experience with Excel or PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate new programs, ideas, or initiatives

 

Typical qualifications for a Consultant:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Relations or a related field
  • Excellent academic record
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a ‘top performer’ at a leading international management consultancy, or a similar type of private sector experience
  • Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral
  • Professionalism and demonstrated experience working directly with clients, including senior management of corporate and/or top officials in the public sector
  • Sensitivity to the political and cultural environments of international public agencies or similar complex environments
  • Demonstrated fluency with English speaking and writing skills

You are expected to work near one of our offices and work 2-3 days/week in the office.

 

Employment in Dalberg’s US offices is contingent on the candidate having the requisite authorization to live and work in the US.

Interviews will begin at the end of April, with offers being extended by the end of May. Onboarding dates July 15 and September 9.

 

Interview Process: Candidates selected will be invited to three interviews: a behavioral interview and two separate 45-minute case interviews, each conducted by a different interviewer.

 

Salary: The annual compensation for this role is $75,000 for the Associate Consultant position and $85,000 for the Consultant position. Our salary structure is designed to be in line with that of non-profit and social impact organizations, reflecting our dedication to social impact work. This is distinct from management consultancies, which predominantly cater to commercial clients.
