Who You Are:

We are seeking a highly motivated and goal-oriented Research Associate to join our growing team of scientists and engineers. The successful candidate must thrive in a highly dynamic, collaborative research environment and be committed to making significant contributions to our programs.

 

The candidate’s primary responsibility will be providing critical support for multiple studies in both cell-based and animal models, including administering therapeutic interventions, and collecting and processing blood and tissue samples for subsequent analyses. The successful candidate will carry out molecular biology, immunology, and/or virology assays to contribute to our in vitro and in vivo evaluations of lead molecules and the optimization of our platform. 
 

 

Primary Skills and Responsibilities 

  • Perform routine rodent husbandry, dosing, and blood and tissue collection.
  • Maintain mammalian cell cultures, including primary cells and cell lines, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
  • Conduct plate-based assays such as ELISAs, luciferase assays, and colorimetric assays.
  • Perform protein expression, purification, and analysis, including transfection, SDS-PAGE, and Western blotting.
  • Utilize molecular biology techniques, including cloning, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR/qPCR, and agarose gel electrophoresis.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to design, plan, and execute experiments across multiple projects.
  • Assist in the development of DNA therapeutic technology for clinical applications.
  • Work with minimal supervision to maintain core laboratory processes and equipment.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills, effectively working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analyze and present data internally.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact productively with individuals from diverse scientific disciplines.
  • Work closely with a tight-knit and highly communicative team.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

 

 

The following skills and experience are preferred:

  • Familiarity with flow cytometry.
  • Experience with lab automation and coding languages such as Python.
  • Development and maintenance of plasmid vector collections.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and GraphPad Prism.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in the biological sciences or similar field.
  • At least 1 year of research experience in a relevant field.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The organization does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status for this position.

 

 

Compensation and benefits:

  • Salary of $58,000 - $94,000 yearly; will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skills.
