Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

Assist patients with check-ins, collecting medical histories, and explaining procedures.

Prepare patients for exams or surgeries, ensuring comfort and safety.

Perform basic clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs, administering eye exams, and assisting in ocular testing.

Clinical Support:

Assist oculoplastic surgeons with in-office procedures and surgeries, including preparing the necessary tools, sterilizing equipment, and providing support during surgeries.

Monitor patients post-procedure to ensure they are recovering as expected.

Perform routine tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and imaging.

Administrative Duties:

Schedule appointments and surgeries, managing patient flow to optimize the office’s efficiency.

Handle medical records, including updating patient files, processing insurance information, and documenting visit summaries.

Communicate with patients about pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.

Patient Education:

Provide patients with information about pre-operative and post-operative care.

Educate patients on different oculoplastic procedures and treatment options available.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure excellent patient care.

Maintain a clean, organized work environment that meets all health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

Certification: Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or similar).

Experience: Experience in an ophthalmology or oculoplastic setting is preferred.

Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy office.

Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of medical equipment and procedures, especially related to oculoplastic care.
