Sales Organization Intern

Summary

Lidl US is searching for the next Intern to join our Sales Organization team! The Sales Organization Intern will explore requirements for the implementation of a smart-safe and/or cash recycler versus existing store safe and cash solutions and courier contract. The role will test the space needed, IT functionality required, and explore return on investment (ROI) of various vendors and products. The intern will play an integral role in identifying cost savings around cash handling processes in stores by gaining time of interest with earlier deposits, electronic counterfeit detection, electronic deposit information, and/or fewer coin orders/deliveries needed.

 

*** This position reports to our Headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid 3-day schedule. ***

 

What You’ll Do

Essential Functions

  • Identify and review vendor contacts for smart-safe and cash recycler options
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to identify implementation requirements
  • In-store testing of space in various cash office footprints
  • Review in-store process and impact to store productivity/scheduling
  • Present findings and value gained to determine ROI
  • Define project rollout timeline and hours requirement

 

What You’ll Need

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software 
  • Must have familiarity with business cash handling
  • Strong analytics skills 
  • Ability to commit to a full-time work schedule (40 hours per week)

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience 

  • Pursuing degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related fields or similar at an accredited College or University
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior with a 3.0 or higher-grade point average

Physical Job Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
