Environmental Analyst I

MassDEP seeks applicants for the position of an Environmental Analyst I (EA I) in the Bureau of Air and Waste Asbestos Program in the Western Regional Office of MassDEP, located in Springfield. This position requires the EA I to be located within the region.
Under the direct supervision of the Asbestos Section Chief or his/her designee, the EA I performs inspections of asbestos abatement sites located in the region. Duties include responding to complaints, performing routine inspections, and taking samples.
Duties will also include:
- Assisting other staff with Permitting, Compliance Inspections and Enforcement Activities.
- Documentation of field inspections using appropriate forms.
- Assisting in preparation of correspondence to the regulated community, including enforcement documents.
- Participation in regularly scheduled regional meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to obtain asbestos certifications, including Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Project Designer.
