Quality Assurance Intern

Summary

Lidl US is searching for the next Intern to join our Quality Assurance team! The Quality Assurance Intern will assist the Quality & Sustainability (Q&S) teams with product lifecycle review to identify potential improvements and/or changes to current processes to reduce time spent on input or increase value gained from data/tracking/etc. The role will play an integral part in providing a fresh look into Q&S processes by identifying innovative ways to track/process data and improve overall efficiency and/or access to available data between teams.

 

*** This position reports to our Headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid 3-day schedule. ***

 

What You’ll Do

Essential Functions

  • Aid with Lidl expert tastings
  • Prepare, Cook, and lay out food for product reviews and special sensory quality projects
  • Assist in shopping for products needed for in house tasting and reviews
  • Participates in work processes, systems, and/or procedures to ensure efficient workflow 
  • Organize Lidl QA documents, protocols, and procedures
  • Support with implementation of new federal and state regulatory requirements
  • Assist with data analytics and trend reviews
  • Assist with supplier communications and data collection and reporting
  • Perform additional Quality Assurance tasks as required

 

What You’ll Need

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Must have a basic understanding of food safety/science/chemistry/biology
  • Strong analytics skills and familiarity with quality management systems
  • Experience with SAP, Excel, Sensory Lab Program
  • Ability to commit to a full-time work schedule (40 hours per week)

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience 

  • Pursuing degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related fields at an accredited College or University
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior with a 3.0 or higher-grade point average

Physical Job Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
