Without the strength of our business services team, we would not be able to provide the industry-leading services and education we are known for. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer to oversee all of AIDB’s finance and accounting operations. As Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for all Finance and Accounting, Purchasing and Warehouse, Financial Operations, Budgeting, Contract Management and Payroll for AIDB. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing complex budgets, tracking planned and unexpected spending, and making recommendations based on financial data. The Chief Financial Officer is directly responsible to the President for the administration and management of all phases of the financial operation of AIDB, including the receipt and disbursement of all funds, budgetary control, accounting services, financial planning and reporting, investment of idle funds, purchasing, financial auditing, and payroll. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will make it your mission to streamline our finance and accounting, budgeting and reporting processes and ensure compliance with all state and federal laws.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Education Administration, or related field, or
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Education Administration, or related field and Professional Licensure as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant.
- A minimum of ten years’ documented successful work experience in executive level positions such as business director, treasurer, controller, or chief financial officer for a public agency, institution or private business.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in education finance, budgeting, personnel, and fund accounting.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in working with a wide range of professionals in planning, coordinating and directing the administration and management of all phases of the financial operations of an organization.
- Demonstrated experience working with outside auditors on an organization’s finances and reporting obligations under state and federal laws.
- Demonstrated ability to manage finances of a multi-million dollar manufacturing enterprise.
- A sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first thirty (36) months of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in working with diverse revenue sources including gifts and endowments, and external funding from government (federal and state) agencies, private foundations, and corporations.
- Earned Master’s Degree and Professional Licensure as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant.
- Experience working with a governing board.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Chief Financial Officer will have supervisory responsibility for the Assistant Chief Financial Officer, the Controller and the following departments and operations: Finance and Accounting, Purchasing and Warehousing Financial Operations, Contract Management, Budgeting and Payroll
- The CFO will work closely with other AIDB administrators and staff to provide the services required for the education and physical well-being of the students and clients served by AIDB.
- Serve as Treasurer for the Board of Trustees, including reporting the financial condition of AIDB to its Board of Trustees and other governmental agencies as requested by the President.
- Makes recommendations to the President for finance and accounting policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Develop and administer budgets, including control, analysis and revision, and reports to the President projections of revenues and expenditures on a monthly basis.
- Responsible for preparing and overseeing all annual state auditing requirements
- Analyze, project and monitor budget allocations and expenditures based on a financial plan, including revenues, expenditure and investments.
- Communicate consistently financial information to the President’s staff to keep them constantly informed and within annual budget constraints or approved variances.
- Prepares and maintains long-term financial forecasts for all of AIDB’s funds.
- Monitor both short and long-term internal and external financial and operational developments to ensure that forecasts are current and accurate.
- Contribute to AIDB’s strategic objectives by assisting administrators and department heads in conducting financial analysis of current and proposed activities.
- Monitor cash reserves to provide maximum practical protections.
- Ensure the timely collection of all accounts receivable.
- Coordinate the purchasing activates of AIDB, including contract management.
- Work cooperatively with others, including the Office of Institutional Advancement, the legislature, external agencies, etc. to enhance revenues and the fiscal security of AIDB.
- Provide leadership to staff for programs and departments assigned.
- Maintain professional competence in areas of responsibilities.
- Provide detailed accounts of moneys received and disbursed in advance of regular meetings of the Board of Trustees and at such other times as the Board or President may request.

SALARY:$130,000 - $200,000Scale A1 Rank 01
260 Days
Direct deposit required.
This is an exempt position and is not subject to overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
