The Neville Public Museum is an art, history, and science institution. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated student to assist with the Neville’s collections department. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of museum collections, working closely with the Collections Team to ensure the preservation, organization, and accurate documentation of the museum’s extensive collection. Responsibilities will include conducting thorough inventories of artifacts, carefully re-housing objects following museum preservation standards, and entering detailed information into the museum’s collections management database.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with database software. The intern must be able to follow direction regarding the Nevilles Collections Policy concerning handling artifacts with care and preservation procedures. This position will offer the student the chance to develop key skills in collections management and gain valuable experience in a professional museum environment.
