Student Receptionist
The student receptionist is responsible for greeting Student Success clients, on the phone and in person, and directing them to the appropriate staff and/or resources to meet their needs. This job is open to those who qualify for the work-study program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inform students about the services and resources available in the Student Success Department.
- Change majors and minors.
- Assist clerical staff with the duties and functions of the office (word processing, filing, mailing, answering phones, copying, opening and distributing mail, etc.).
- Assist in maintaining office resources such as the computers and employer file materials.
- Always work in a safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Be free of academic and/or disciplinary probation and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher while employed.
- Ability to deal with a diverse population in a positive and friendly manner.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Demonstrate a sincere interest in helping people.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with computer applications run from Windows format.
- Ability to write and type effectively and efficiently.
- Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Willingness to be a participating member of the Student Success staff by making suggestions on how to be more efficient and effective in helping our students.
- Ability to effectively deal with interruptions.
We are currently looking to hire a candidate who has open availability, if possible. Our daily office hours are 8 AM - 5 PM in the fall and winter. Our summer hours are 7:30 AM - 4 PM.
