Accounting Assistant

Job Summary

The Accounting Assistant performs a variety of general bookkeeping, accounting, and clerical support tasks for the reLink accounting and finance team.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Gather data from sales order processing team and systems to accurately enter orders

• Create reports in Excel to generate and customize reports from financial and operations systems as needed

• Verify accuracy of bills and other accounting documents or records and properly record in systems

• Create and update sales receipts, invoices and credit memos

• Login to customers, vendors and other systems to retrieve or enter documents and data

• Communicate with customers as needed to facilitate accurate and timely payments

• Assist in reconciling report and data discrepancies and troubleshooting problems

• Maintain complete and accurate customer and vendor files and records

• Process mail and distribute

• Prepare and enter journal entries as assigned

• Assist in month-end close by facilitating multiple reporting functions to ensure accuracy and completeness

• Collaborate with other departments and assist in other duties, projects and tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications

• One year of relevant accounting or finance department experience

• Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Required

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office tools required

• Experience with QuickBooks and Salesforce highly preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

The physical demand described is representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role is required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to finger.

Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

· Full time & Exempt Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

· Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

· This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
