About Us:

Elk River Municipal Utilities (ERMU) is a community-owned utility provider based in Elk River, Minnesota. It provides electric and water services to residents and businesses in the area. ERMU focuses on delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable utility services while maintaining a commitment to environmental stewardship and customer satisfaction. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in supporting IT operations and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and document solutions.
  • Help with system updates, installations, and configurations.
  • Monitor and maintain IT systems and network security.
  • Support inventory management of IT equipment and assets.
  • Participate in IT projects and collaborate with team members on process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of operating systems, networks, and troubleshooting concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and basic IT tools.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT documentation.
