Intern, Film Production
The Washington DC-based nonprofit National Performing Arts Funding Exchange is offering a paid internship to a third or fourth year undergraduate or an advanced degree student or recent graduate whose education and/or experience centers on the creation of film productions centered on the performing arts, ideally ballet and contemporary dance.
The intern will support NPAFE’s production of a major docuseries to be streamed by Amazon Prime or Netflix. The intern’s collaboration with NPAFE will largely be telework but occasionally onsite at a Manhattan or Washington DC WeWork location.
This internship is wholly substantive, not administrative, with an emphasis on imagination and creativity: the intern’s work will center on structuring the actual production of an 8-episode docuseries including but not limited to casting, scripts, budgeting, locations, pre-production and production. It will also require working directly with New York City, EU and UK choreographers, dancers, and dance filmmakers.
This is a paid internship, minimum 45 hours per month for at least 2 months, at least $20 /hour, perhaps more depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, ideally including how the industry of classical ballet and contemporary dance actually works.
