BEP Finance Administrator

Summary/Objective:

 Under broad supervision, confirms the integrity of financial statements, verifying assets, determining liabilities, and ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations by interpreting laws and policies, and auditing records, transactions and financial data. May require special certification. Owns assigned tasks. May also serve in a lead role.

 

Essential Functions:

1.           Inspects account books and accounting or financial computer systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions   Prepares and maintains databases, evidence, files and confidential documents

2.           Research financial histories, previous payments, balance sheet details or prior audit findings

3.           Completes selected portions of audits as part of an audit team or may complete complex audits independently.

4.           Compiles and documents background information and prepares analyses and/or correspondence. Prepares or assists in the preparation of reports (i.e. case reports, audit findings, asset utilization, recommended changes in operations or financial activities).   Conducts auditing of establishments and determines scope of investigation required. Frequently serves as Detail Examiner-ln-Charge

5.           Performs credit analysis duties on examinations after having sufficient experience and training and becoming fully proficient with other jobs.   Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. Applies pertinent new knowledge to performance and other responsibilities.

6.           Serves as a spokesperson and liaison for the Department, by communicating effectively with financial institutions, personnel, officers, and directors of other agencies.

7.           May provide technical expertise and on the job training to less experienced financial examiners

8.           Reviews and examines tax reports, ledgers or other financial or performance-related records to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud or noncompliance with applicable laws or regulations.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience

Or

Five (5) years of professional job-related experience in a relevant area

Or

One (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Financial Examiner 2 (RCP111) or position equivalent.

 

Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year. 

 

Preferred Education and Experience: 

 Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the required education and experience, possess one or more of the following:

1.           One (1) year or more experience working with individuals who are visually impaired, coaching blind individuals on fiscal operations and business improvements.

2.           One (1) year or more experience with food service operations such as snack bar, vending, café, cafeteria.

3.           One (1) year or more experience in working with Federal, State, and local government grants and regulatory agencies.

4.           One (1) or more experience with writing, updating, and implementing new policy and policy changes.

 

 Supervisory Responsibility:

May supervise staff

 

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Working Conditions:

Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodation can be made available to qualified individuals upon request. 

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.

 

Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
