Part-time Lab Technician
General Purpose:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate student to assist in a molecular biology research lab. This part-time, work-study position offers hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, supporting ongoing research projects, maintaining lab organization, and providing occasional weekend assistance as needed. It’s an excellent opportunity for students interested in molecular biology, neuroscience, or biomedical research.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lab Maintenance: Assist with restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and organizing
reagents.
• Experimental Support: Perform routine sample preparation and assist in experiments
under supervision.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate lab records, update databases, and ensure proper
documentation of procedures.
• Weekend Assistance (As Needed): Help monitor lab equipment, maintain cell cultures, or assist in time-sensitive experiments.
Qualifications
-Availability:
- Minimum 10–12 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
- Able to commit to occasional weekend tasks, as needed.
-Education and Experience:
- Must be an enrolled undergraduate student.
- Interest in molecular biology, neuroscience, or biomedical research.
- Previous lab experience is a plus but not required—training will be provided.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow lab protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
