WDI Projection and Imaging Engineering Intern, Summer 2025

The approximate date of this internship is May 2025 to August 2025 and will be located in Glendale, CA.  

 

As a Projection/Imaging Engineering intern you will work with the team that is responsible for performing Video Projection Engineering activities related to attractions ride and shows. You will have the opportunity to:

 

 

What You Will Do

  • Assist in the design and implementation of projection systems including the selection of placement of projector technology, lens specification and selection, screen design and selection, color space, resolution, frame rate and other criteria critical to the integration of imagery into our attractions.
  • Assist in the design and integration of Projection systems and displays into facility 3D REVIT models.
  • Assist in the evaluation of new Direct View LED products, both 2D and 3D.
  • Support the testing and evaluation of new projection technologies, laser light sources, and evolving 3D projection systems.
  • Assist in the installation, test and adjust of attraction projection systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Optics and Projection education or pre-graduation experience
  • Electronics background
  • Basic understanding of image formats and video
  • Basic understanding or optics and color
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • A driver's license is required for this role

 

Education

Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college /university earning a degree in Electronics Engineering, film or theatrical degree related to lighting, film production or an equivalent degree

 

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information  

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:  

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program

Additional Information  

  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship  
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship in Glendale, CA
