Innovator Academy - Summer Leadership Program
Are you a young leader passionate about making change in your community? Do you want to gain hands-on experience solving real-world issues using tech and digital tools?
ReThink Citizens is now accepting applications for the Innovator Academy, a FREE six-week virtual summer program designed for Illinois students (ages 13–17).
Participants will:
- Design a tech-based or digital solution to a community issue they care about
- Build leadership and project management skills
- Collaborate with peers and mentors from across Illinois
- Choose from pathways in Tech Solutions, Community & Social Impact, or Advocacy & Education
- Participate in interactive workshops, guest speaker sessions, and team challenges
Additionally, students will have the option to complete a 1–2 week internship with one of our partner organizations in areas like tech innovation, social impact, or advocacy during Weeks 3 and 4 of the program.
Eligibility:
- Illinois resident
- Age 13–17
- Interested in tech, leadership, and social impact
- Committed to participating fully in the program from June 23 – August 1, 2025
Benefits:

- In person showcase in Chicago to present your solution
