Industrial Pretreatment Technician
This position performs technical duties in support of the Industrial Pretreatment Program.
Examples of Duties
• Conducts facilities inspections to ensure compliance with codes and ordinances; inspects pretreatment devices, grease interceptors and other components to insure proper operation and installation; identifies instances of non-compliance and issues notifications; conducts follow-up inspections; coordinates further enforcement actions as needed.
• Collects water and wastewater samples using EPA approved methods and chain-of-custody procedures.
• Records, logs and documents all inspection activities, deficiencies, and corrections; updates industrial waste survey.
• Prepares necessary documentation, reports and correspondence.
• Develops and delivers presentations to business, contractors and the public on industrial pretreatment policies and procedures.
• Conducts laboratory analysis of samples and records results.
• Performs related duties.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
