Lab Development Intern

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Laboratory Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in a laboratory setting. The successful candidate will assist our research and development team in conducting procedures, analyzing data, and contributing to various projects within our laboratory.          

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Assist in setting up laboratory equipment and preparing materials and overall inventory management for the cleanroom.  
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests and experiments under the guidance of senior researchers. 
  • Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, observations, and results. 
  • Perform data analysis using software tools such as Excel or specialized laboratory software. 
  • Assist in the development and optimization of experimental protocols. 
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot experimental procedures and equipment issues. 
  • Always ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and procedures. 
  • Contribute to the preparation of research reports, presentations, and other documentation. 
  • Keep abreast of relevant scientific literature and developments in the field. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory supervisors or senior staff members.

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate program (e.g., biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field). 
  • Strong interest in laboratory research and hands-on experience with laboratory techniques and procedures. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. 
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Prior experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation is desirable but not required. 
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive laboratory environment. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
