Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Laboratory Assistant to support our research and development efforts. This role is essential to maintaining smooth operations within our lab, ensuring that equipment is properly maintained, and supporting the team in tracking and organizing experimental data. You will assist in various lab duties, including maintaining glassware, performing equipment upkeep, following established procedures, and managing inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Washing Glassware: Properly clean and sterilize laboratory glassware, ensuring that all items are free of contaminants and ready for future experiments.
- Following SOPs: Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all laboratory activities, ensuring accurate and reproducible results while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Data Tracking: Use Excel to organize, track, and analyze laboratory data, ensuring accuracy and availability for review by team members and researchers.
- Lab Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are functioning correctly and safely.
- PPE Knowledge: Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and maintain awareness of safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Basic Laboratory Skills: Perform basic lab techniques such as mixing chemicals, preparing samples, and conducting routine experiments under supervision.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain lab inventory levels, ensuring that all necessary supplies and materials are available for ongoing research and experiments.
Qualifications:
- Previous laboratory experience or formal education in a related field is a plus, but not required.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry and organization.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Familiarity with PPE and laboratory safety protocols.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks with accuracy and consistency.
- Willingness to learn and contribute to cutting-edge research in electrochemistry and decarbonization.
