Job Overview:
Project Destiny is seeking a passionate and dynamic Summer Program Leader for our Summer Camp program. This exciting opportunity is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about working with children, leading by example, and fostering a fun and safe environment. As a Summer Program Leader, you will play a key role in guiding campers, leading activities, and providing supervision to Counselors in Training (CITs). You’ll help create memorable experiences, promote leadership, and foster a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead by example, providing enthusiastic, patient, and compassionate guidance to campers and CITs.
• Build meaningful relationships with campers by learning their names and getting to know them personally.
• Provide supervision and ensure the safety of campers at all times.
• Plan and implement activities, collaborating with your team to create engaging and fun experiences.
• Lead campers in a variety of daily activities, offering support and assistance where needed.
• Encourage exploration and curiosity in all activities.
• Ensure that all areas of the camp remain clean, organized, and safe for campers.
• Support campers in maintaining proper personal hygiene throughout the day.
• Immediately report any illness or injury to the Camp Coordinator.
• Provide feedback and evaluations on camper progress at the end of each week.
• Follow camp policies, training, and instructions to ensure a safe and enjoyable camp experience.
Minimum Job Requirements:
• A strong desire to work with children and help them thrive in a summer camp setting.
• Ability to engage in physical activities and maintain an active presence with children.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Enthusiastic, caring, and approachable attitude toward children.
• Proven ability to serve as a strong role model and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Flexible, accountable, and reliable with excellent attendance.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous childcare experience is preferred.
Additional Information:
• Must be available to attend all required trainings, orientations, and staff meetings.
• This is a seasonal, full-time position with a 50% travel requirement.
• Clearances (ACT 33, ACT 34, NSOR and FBI) are required for all candidates.
