Private Equity Portfolio Company Marketing Intern

Internship Description

The successful candidate will be working closely with the President and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Coleville Partners’ portfolio company during the spring of 2025.  The role will report into the company’s CMO. Coleville Partners is looking for a motivated candidate who has an interest in private equity and business.  We are hiring from MBA programs at leading universities, and prior experience is preferred.  The intern will be working in the marketing department on projects including: brand, customer experience, SEO/SEM, product marketing, social/online presence, content management, content marketing, email and direct mail marketing, digital marketing. The intern will also work with the company President to develop a marketing dashboard and KPIs which will be included in the monthly board reporting pack.  These metrics will inform future investment decisions on marketing spend to fuel organic growth.  Insurance/warranty industry experience is not required since the intern will learn this from the company’s President and CMO who are industry veterans.

  • If the candidate does not have direct experience in private equity, insurance, warranty or residential services, they can expect to attain a deep understanding of these industries from this internship (e.g. value creation)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Spearhead the company’s customer research and competitive analysis efforts
  • Manage marketing agency relationships and engagements
  • Maintain brand guideline adherence in all communication forms
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of customer journey mapping from upper funnel leads through renewal
  • Analyze campaign performance and make recommendations for iterative improvement
  • Research, present recommendations, develop and execute omni-channel channel marketing campaigns
    • Includes SEO, SEM, email, SMS, direct mail, local advertising, direct response radio/TV, partnerships, referrals, etc.  
  • Online presence: review the company’s online presence (website, social media, internet) for effectiveness and consistency 
    • Make suggestions, and implement suggested changes to improve the company’s online presence
    • Ensure consistency across the company’s online presence and print material
  • Introduce use of big data to accurately identify potential customers, categorize them, and tailor marketing to them based on these findings 
    • Introduce AI applications that can speed up and automate certain marketing processes

 

Requirements

  • Undergrad degree in an applicable field of study; MBA candidates preferred 
  • Ability to work with large datasets and customer databases
    • Experience with relevant marketing software applications
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
    • The intern will be expected to re-write certain content marketing, and marketing messaging from their findings and understanding of the business
  • Positive personality and a ‘can-do’ mentality – proactive approach to work
  • Work ethic & integrity – willing to go above and beyond; Innately humble, trustworthy and responsive
  • An interest in business and marketing
  • Comfortable using MS Office suite of products

  • Location:  Remote
  • Hours:  Part-time (~20 hours per week)
  • Compensation:  Competitive hourly pay
