Staff Accountant

ASGCO® engineers, manufactures, and sells a wide array of conveyor and screening components, all specifically designed and engineered for the mining, aggregate, cement, recycling, bulk shipping terminals, food processing and other bulk material handling industries. ASGCO has an opening for an entry level Staff Accountant in our Nazareth headquarters. We are seeking an organized, motivated, and collaborative professional to join our staff full-time.. This position will report directly to the Controller. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring company purchase orders are processed timely and accurately. We need a dependable professional with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail. The successful applicant will have working knowledge of automated purchasing practices and prior experience in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reconcile key Balance Sheet accounts
  • Review reconciliations and the month-end close
  • Generate and tie out various financial reports
  • Analyze and review variances for income statement balances
  • Work with other departments to ensure timeliness and accuracy of month-end information
  • Prepare, review, upload, and post journal entries when required
  • Resolve financial questions for departments
  • Preparation of timely and accurate customer billings
  • Maintain item master and create new items and bill of materials as necessary
  • Work with and provide support to Controller, inventory accountant, and accounts receivable supervisor
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining vigilant attention to details
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability
  • Solid organizational and time management skills to manage workload and meet deadlines

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years prior office experience as a Staff Accountant, manufacturing experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Detail oriented with excellent math ability
  • Good organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Familiarity with automated inventory, billing, purchasing, and accounts payable systems
  • Experience with AS400
