CNC Engineer
Position Summary:
The CNC Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, and optimizing CNC machining processes for both new product development and existing projects. The CNC Engineer will also support troubleshooting, provide technical expertise, and recommend process improvements to maximize machine capabilities and efficiency.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify CNC programs using 3D models, blueprints and design specifications.
- Sets up 3, 4 and 5-axis production machines following prints and specifications.
- Chooses, aligns, and securely attaches holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and other materials on machines.
- Assists machinists in problem solving.
- Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
- Identifies malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; adjusts controls of machine to correct errors.
- Inspects and measures completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setup.
- Keep machine tools in clean and working order and complete traveler fully and accurately.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, including tool lists, Op sheets, process flows, and revision histories.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Train and support operators in machine setups and program adjustments as necessary.
- Comply with mandated ISO quality procedures
- All other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Strong hands-on machining background with at least 5 years of demonstrated ability in process development and programming of CNC machines.
- Experience Programming 4 axis vertical & horizontal machining centers, 2 axis lathes, Y-Axis & Live Tooling lathes, vertical lathes with live tooling, and wire EDM machines
- Confirmed working knowledge of Mastercam and/or Autodesk software is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal skills required.
- Tooling and ancillary machining equipment knowledge is a must.
