Information Technology Asst Director

Position Summary

The Office of Health Science (OHS) Technology team at Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking a dedicated and innovative Assistant Director of Health Technology Security, Infrastructure and Operations. This role is pivotal in supporting academic, clinical, and research missions for the health sciences, including Human Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Nursing, and the Office of Health Science. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of several teams, ensuring the effective support of OHS IT Security, Infrastructure and operations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
-Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies.
-Oversee IT infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance.
-Optimize IT operations for performance and cost-efficiency.
-Manage a budget exceeding $10MM annually.
-Coordinate vendor relationships and contracted services.
-Lead and mentor IT teams.
-Engage with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business opportunities.
-Ensure strategic alignment between IT and business plans.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; more than eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience including at least three of the following: project management, applications design and programming, data center operations, systems programming, database administration, office automation, production analysis, client computing, consulting services, financial management, long range planning and data security; and management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred.
