POSITION SUMMARY 

The Production department internship provides experience in live event production, offering the opportunity to work closely with industry professionals in a fast-paced environment. Interns will gain practical knowledge in event logistics, production coordination, and technical theatre while supporting a variety of performances, events, and administrative responsibilities.

Our paid internship program is designed to provide you with a comprehensive learning experience and gain real-world practical business experience that will jumpstart your career. The Intern will work under the direction of the Department VP, Director, or Manager.  This opportunity will provide hands-on experience, networking opportunities and develop your skillset and capabilities to further your career.

 

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Summer Intern program starts in June and continues for up to 6 weeks.
  • Part-time paid internship - $15 per hour.
  • This internship is onsite at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts or one of our affiliated venues.
  • Schedule:  Schedule varies based on the department, average 20 hours per week.
  • Learn how to effectively communicate with various internal and external departments.
  • Gain professional skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with others, professional conduct, ethics, and general operations.
  • Develop team building skills, with ability to work with all levels and roles of an organization effectively.
  • Work as part of the team to provide support to ensure reliability and efficiency with processes.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to maintain a physical presence at designated work locations, maintaining regular attendance, punctuality and working a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and events may be required.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time and task management skills.

 

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Must be in your junior or senior year of undergraduate studies or a graduate student and currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, majoring in a related field for the department you would like to intern.
  • New Graduates having completed a related field of study no more than 1 year ago.
