Employment Opportunity –Victim and Family Advocate for Kendall County Child Advocacy Center
Kendall County Child Advocacy Center is seeking an organized and empathic team member to successfully facilitate a coordinated approach for investigation into child abuse and neglect. This position will work closely with multiple departments including law enforcement and medical professionals.
Essential Functions:
A successful candidate for this position will be responsible for promoting a child focused, supportive and empathic environment to support the child and their families that participate in an investigation.
- Provide crisis support to children and their families including greeting families, provide resources and referrals, transportation services, and support non-offending family members.
- Implement crisis assessment and intervention tools that are necessary to assess risk and safety.
- Share information about Victim’s Rights Act and assist when necessary.
- Ensure seamless coordination of services.
- Participate in active outreach and follow up services.
- Working Knowledge of DCFS experience is desirable.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in social work or other Human service-related field preferred.
- Relevant experience working with children of all ages and developmental levels with trauma.
- Essential understanding of National Children’s Alliance standards.
- Must be proficient in use of computers and in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Valid and current Illinois driver’s license is required.
- Bicultural and bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position.
- *** This position is funding via Grant for Calendar Year 2025 year only *** (possible renewal of grant is available)
- Generally, office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (occasionally nights and weekends might be required).
- This position’s office is on-site at the Kendall County Courthouse in Yorkville, Illinois.
Benefits:
- Base salary range: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year DOQ.
- Approximately 13 paid holidays per year (the holidays are approved each year by the Kendall County Board).
- Paid vacation time – accrued each month, available for use immediately, and increases incrementally with years of service.
