Security Officer

The Fresno County General Services Department invites applications for the position of Security Officer. The incumbent is responsible for patrolling buildings and grounds to ensure security and fire protection, securing facilities to prevent unauthorized entry, enforcing security rules and regulations, and reporting illegal security breaches and behavior to the appropriate law enforcement agencies. Ideal candidates should possess keen observation skills, the ability to adapt to a variety of situations requiring sound judgment and have exceptional interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

EducationPossession of a United States' high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

License: Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.


Certification: Ability to obtain a Security Guard Card issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) within one (1) year from the date of hire or be rejected during the probationary period.


Note: Incumbents must obtain and maintain Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance as a condition of employment. Incumbents may be required to obtain and maintain California Department of Social Services Guardian clearance as a condition of employment.


APPLICANTS MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME IF NECESSARY AND SHIFTS AS ASSIGNED INCLUDING NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, AND HOLIDAYS.
