Resident Assistant - Independent Living Program

Make an Impact as a Resident Assistant!

NewPath Child & Family Solutions provides community-based apartments through our Independent Living Services (ILS) Program for youth transitioning to adulthood, including those aging out of foster care. The goal of the ILS Program is to help youth become adults who are able to contribute to society and meet life situations adequately and in a personally satisfying way.

 

The NewPath ILS Resident Assistant will have the opportunity to establish therapeutic relationships, teach independent living skills, and provide an environment that is growth-producing for the client.

 

Status: Part-time

Compensation: This position requires living onsite in our ILS apartments. Compensation includes rent, utilities, and a $14 per-hour stipend.

Hours: On call from 12:00 am to 5:00 am up to 10 hours per week

Position Location: Glenmore Ave., Cincinnati OH

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Act as the primary decision-maker relative to facility emergencies after hours.
  • Act as a role model projecting a positive image and demonstrating appropriate behavior and actions.
  • Ability and willingness to help teach independent living skills.
  • Monitor the youths' activities and behaviors in the apartments overnight.
  • Respond to emergencies and write shift reports.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other staff providing services in the Independent Living Services Program.

 

What You Bring To The Table

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, primarily overnight.
  • A willingness and comfort level in providing services to a diverse population of clients.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations.
  • Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Have a valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance with no DUI/OVI violations and no more than 5 points on your MVR.
  • A clean criminal background check.
